Trans-sacral L5/SI fusion is a spinal surgery targeted at the L5/SI intervertebral space where the surgeon implants an implant to treat painful symptoms caused by vertebral instability like spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis or degenerative discs.
It is basically through a small, para-coccygeal incision that the surgeon makes to create a pre-sacral corridor.
