The Millionaire Mind: Nothing Compares To Optimism

Submitted by: Jeff Balagosa

You’d be hard pressed to find any self made millionaire who is full with depression and self doubt. Ever wonder why that is? Does their mental attitude have anything to do with their success? It absolutely does! It’s pretty safe to assume that the millionaire mind doesn’t function like 80 percent of the population. For the most part, they are driven individuals that can’t help but take action on enormous goals. After reading a few of their stories, it seems like they embody a superhuman ability to see what needs to be done and keep going no matter what gets in their way. I appreciate your interest in what makes these minds tick. You don’t know it yet, but by the end of this article you will know how important optimism is to the millionaire mindset.

Let me ask you this, what if you absolutely knew that you could not fail. Imagine if some sort of divine being that granted you the ability to achieve success. This powerful being told you about setbacks here and there, but you will be successful eventually. It would just be a matter of time.

This is how many self made millionaires see their goals. They have the faith to see them as inevitable. It’s almost as if they already can see the future.

Optimism also increases your ability to learn and change directions; an important skill to keep for learning from your mistakes. Optimists don’t see a roadblock as something they cannot overcome because they’re just not born into the situation. They will think of it as a temporary setback and a solution just takes some critical thinking.

Optimism and enthusiasm also go hand in hand. And that enthusiasm gets infections. Other people will see how passionate and obsessive they are about their idea. They instantly want to go out of their way to help that person. It’s how people like Mother Theresa could go around the world without any money or resources. Others were just willing to help her because they felt she did something important. The only way to spread that feeling is with infection enthusiasm.

As a leader, enthusiasm helps you motivate your people to work harder and show excitement for your idea, as if their own. People like being a part of something that gives them meaning. The millionaire mind contains enough optimism that it influences this very need that people contain deep inside their minds.

Optimism also breeds creativity. Since self made millionaires aren’t afraid of failures, they become free to create and go wild with their imagination. They don’t doubt their ideas or think that no one else will “get it.”

They grow to be adept at visualizing the outcome of a specific path. They see clearly what will happen when they successfully achieve a goal. Bill Gates is a great example of this. As a young man, he visualized every home in the US will contain a personal computer with his operating system installed on it. This during a time when computers cost so much that only the rich and big businesses could afford them.

Optimism can lead to better health. As the saying goes, “Health is the first wealth.” And optimists by nature tend to be more active. They tend to go to the gym more often and keep moving.

Being an optimist, takes a lot of the fear away. Stress is one of the major side effects of fear. With low stress levels you heart and cardiovascular system greatly benefits. In other words, you won’t get a heart attack

Intuition gets greatly amplified by being an optimist. The millionaire mind can correctly make better informed decisions. They can make faster decisions too, because of the lack of self doubt.

You may think that you are doomed if you possess a predisposition to being a pessimist. But that’s not the case. Studies show that optimism can be learned. It is a skill like riding a bike or baking a cake. It just takes practice.

One of the ways you can practice being an optimist is to monitor your self talk. If you get frustrated and find that you run into trouble doing a particular task. Try telling yourself that you’ll come across the solution eventually and that it’s just a matter of time until you get passed it.
